The L/A Nordiques' offense had a big night, peppering the New England Stars with 41 shots throughout the game. The L/A Nordiques took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Zack Mullen.
Zack Mullen chipped in with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Shayne Plummer did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).
During the first, O’keefe opened the scoring for L/A with a goal at 13:47 with a helper from defenseman Chauvin.
In the second, Mullen netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 7:50 with a helper from his linemate Audette. Sanchez put in a goal at 15:12 with an assist from defenseman Chauvin. Mullen deposited a goal at 19:10.
In the third, Kennedy scored a goal at 2:42 with an assist from fellow Nordiques forward Plummer. Plummer netted a goal at 10:26 with helpers from teammates Sanchez and Ouellette. Ogle quickly followed with a goal at 11:34 with an assist from Mullen. Flynn finally put the Stars on the board with a goal at 15:08 with helpers from Gauvin and Burnham.
L/A’S victory was in no doubt helped out by Broda as he stopped 23 of the 24 shots he faced. Broda’s counterpart, Pesek, also had a big night, managing to stop 34 of 41, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the L/A Nordiques’ record to (31-11-3-1).
