The L/A Nordiques' offense had a big night, peppering the Long Beach Sharks with 49 shots throughout the game. The L/A Nordiques took the lead early in the third on a goal from Crewz Berry.
Colby Audette delivered for his team with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) and Andrew Mccormick did his part, adding 3 assists. Dino Mukovoz chipped in with 2 goals and Charlie Bedard contributed with 2 assists.
In the first period, Colclough opened the scoring for L/A with a goal at 3:49 with a helper from defenseman Mccormick. Carlock answered for the Sharks with a goal at 13:06 with a helper from his teammate Walsh. Sandberg quickly followed with a goal at 13:40 with assists from his linemates, Meier and Gridley. Audette answered for the Nordiques with a goal at 16:34 with helpers from Ouellette and Ventura.
In the second period, Mukovoz answered for Long Beach with a goal at 3:15 with assists from Bedard and Vlacich. Tehan quickly followed with a goal at 4:47 with helpers from Ventura and Audette. Malone put in a goal at 18:56 with assists from Mccormick and Romano.
During the third period, Mukovoz answered for the Sharks with a goal at 4:14 with helpers from Bergman and Bedard. Berry quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 4:23 with assists from Audette and Mccormick.
The Nordiques’ victory was in no doubt helped out by St. Pierre as he stopped 23 of the 27 shots he faced. St. Pierre’s counterpart, Cortez, also had a big night, managing to stop 44 of 49, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the L/A Nordiques’ record to (26-9-2-1).
